Then I'd have to say that you DON'T agree with the sentence, are you at least do not agree strongly.

I'd agree strongly if certain requirements were met. If people could live well with a very free market I'd agree, it seems better to me than having the government running what's best for us.

Either everybody is a libertarian or this quiz has a pre determined result.

I don't think so.

Here's my results when I answered honestly.

Here's the results when I took the "Strongly [dis}Agree" option on every question in order to try to game the quiz to make me look like a rabid Tea Partier.

The results that we see appear to me to indicate that most of us are left-leaning anti-authoritarians. Pretty unsurprising, really.

Yes, except that 'our' left wing leaning would actually be considered right wing in europe. Another reason this quiz isn't very accurate. In the USA I would be considered a hardcore liberal, here socialists hate me with passion.

I've never seen anyone score that way on that test! Gratz. I was wrong.

I suppose that depends on where you are on the spectrum, yes? *I* would not consider you a hardcore liberal (despite being in the USA), nor would I consider myself to be a hardcore liberal either (despite being significantly more left of you).

I expect that the socialists in your country think you are on the right because you are to the right of them. Or perhaps it's due to your positions on specific issues. Or perhaps your leftists are as looney as our conservatives?

It's all relative.

For example, the rabid republicans here sometimes refer to Obama as a liberal, a socialist, or what have you. He's slightly to the left of Mitt fucking Romney, for fucks sake. From my perspective, the man is an authoritarian goon practically indistinguishable from his predecessors, and is no liberal at all (despite how he portrayed himself during his first election campaign).

The Liberals V Conservatives reference is not used in europe, since there are more than 2 parties in most countries. It's mostly 'left wingers' vs 'right wingers', and in any of those sides there are several parties. For instance, left wing parties are usually a center left (AKA socialist party, even though they are not pure socialists so the label is incorrect), a more lefty and a far left (communist party), and between the same side there are arguments and divergences, socialists dislike commies because they take it to the extreme, commies dislike socialists (center left) because they seem them as 'communists without balls'. In the right there's usually a center right (more or less the same as the democratic party of the USA), social democrats and stuff, and then a people's party, usually the conservatives (not only Christian democrats as we call them here, but also right wing conservatives who are not religious). In some countries there are far right parties, the nationalist ones, everyone knows they have a fascist agenda. Unlike the US conservative party they want to increase government invervention to leave everything submitted to the nation (where did we hear that in history books?)

I'm not going to pretend to know how that shit works, but if you had to answer SD for every question, isn't that kind of leading someone to the desired outcome? By desired outcome I mean the green box closer to the bottom. I have seen unabashed racist, ultra conservative, pieces of shit take it and still end up in the green box. Or maybe they aren't as smelly a turd as I or they thought they were?

I think that what you're missing here is that the results are not intended to score you relative to any area's political systems, but rather to the range of possible answers. I think it's pretty clear to everyone that the political mean in Europe is left of center (relative to the chart) and the US is right of center (also relative to the chart).

No, in my experiment I answered either Strongly Agree or Strongly Disagree, depending on the nature of the question.

I dunno what the answer is. I bet if I repeat my experiment, answering as a hard-core racist but in every other way, answer as I normally would have, and I bet it would still end up in the green.

Just because someone is a Neanderthal on one issue doesn't make them one uniformly. Political views aren't nearly as black and white as that.
