The electoral map always looks about like that. I think there's a good reason why people that live in dense populations have different concerns than agrarian nowhere.

American politics is a losing game. Any sense of control feels like an illusion, and most Americans are too stupid to understand the nuances of many of the issues. The majority of the information being beamed into our homes is manipulated by people that want you to vote a certain way, and so many Americans are single issue, low-info voters. Politicians no longer govern but instead, simply make a career out of campaigning, and every decision made goes to the highest bidder.
Enjoy your insanity. I'll wait for some real change.

There you go.
Speaker Cruz, here we come. The crazy will be impossible for "moderates" like Boener and McConnel to contain.
Fasten your seat belts, America. These next two years will be a bumpy ride. But at least it will do for us in 2016 what 2010 did for 2012. The impeachment proceedings of Obama will be a fun circus to watch.
I'm sure you remember making similar posts after 2010, ATheist? I know I do.

After the unmitigated disaster of the W Bush administration and the GOP's consequential defeat in 2008, the GOP needed to rebrand itself to get the Bush stink off of them.
Their solution, embraced by the far right and crazier elements of the GOP, was to put on Tricorner hats, pretend to be founding fathers and call themselves "The Tea Party". They pretended to be a new, spontaneous movement when in fact, they were simply a rebranding of the far right wing of the GOP base.
For those in the UK not familiar, the original Boston Tea Party was when a mob stormed a British trade ship, seized its cargo of tea and dumped it overboard into the harbor, making the largest cup of tea in history but ruining the quality even for American tastes.
Originally, this movement of rebranded Republicans called themselves "The Teabaggers" but this was quite an embarrassing mistake after it was revealed that this term already existed for something else...
Still, I call them the Teabaggers, the original name they'd chosen for themselves, because I refuse to call them The Tea Party. Putting on a tricorner hat does not make you either a patriot or a founding father. It makes you a bad cosplayer.
Hope this helps.

How so?
Is not the GOP's policy to slash food stamps, refuse to raise the minimum wage (or repeal it) and repeal Obamacare?
How does this not promote what Ryantology fears?

My own view is we should get rid of food stamps and give people money instead but I am a real independent. The government issues food stamps instead of money in order to have more control over the recipient of the benefit. That being said, the reason the right wants to cut food stamps is because they believe that most people getting them don't really need them....that the government is nurturing a culture of dependency. Right now the number of people getting food stamps is at a record high. If everyone who gets food stamps needs them....Obama's economic policies are a disaster. Republicans certain do not want people to go hungry. That is just you lying about their motives to sell hate.
Now I could also go into minimum wage and Obamacare(which doesn't provide health care) but do I really need to? Do you think any rational person who has examined republican positions really believe the republicans want people to go hungry, or get paid pennies an hour, or not have access to health care?
You are lying. You are either lying because you are a liar or because you have been brainwashed by liars.

Fasten your seat belts, everyone. It's going to be a bumpy ride for the next two years.
Cruz will not be the house speaker. GOP isn't going to let the party look like nuts to swing voters. They are thinking about 2016.
From this day to next November and every day from now on DEMS need to beat the GOP at messaging and ground game and we need to get off of our asses and raise our voices every day.

Their policies certainly make it look like they don't care.
When you have policies that are supposed to stop abuse in welfare spending but actually prevent people that really do need the help from getting it all the while not making a peep about all of the wasted billions spent on useless planes and bombs that just sit in warehouses, your priorities don't appear to be the people.

Minimum wage devastated the black community and other minorities. Its initial purpose was to keep the negros, redskins, and orientals from diluting the ability of the white man to command a living wage. Now people think minimum wage is designed to help the disadvantaged....but what it does is help the slightly disadvantaged at the expense of the more disadvantaged. Walk into a walmart and costco. The walmart employees look like they just got of the boat. The Costco employees look like more productive workers. If Walmart was forced to pay its employees the same wages as Costco....don't you think they would look for Costco caliber employees?
Someone with low skills who doesn't even speak english can get a job a walmart. They can work for a couple of years...increase their skills.....and then command a higher wage from a company like Costco. But if you make Walmart pay Costco wages...those low skilled workers won't even have a rung on the economic ladder upon which to take their first step.
Don't talk to me about policies which are supposed to help people but hurt them instead. The far left loves those kinds of policies.
