Bad News with a silver lining

RE: Bad News with a silver lining
What a terrible president indeed, no change at all except:

Gas prices are down
Economy is growing 3.5%
Unemployment under 6%
Rising Stock Indexes
People who didn't have healthcare before now have access to it

Yeah, it's no wonder people don't like this guy, no change at all!

Regarding the midterm

Alaska, Oregon and DC legalized weed
Massachusetts now requires sick leave for workers
Colorado and North Dakota struck down "Personhood" Amendments
Fracking Banned in Denton, TX... Texas I mean, TEXAS!
California removed Felony status from all drug possessions

The Republicans supported the above I'm sure... oh wait...

PS: Not worried about the presidency. 2/3 of the voters for the midterm didn't even show up... Those that did show up were in the majority 65+ and white. Good luck with that come time for presidential election.

If 90% of the voters came out to vote, this would not have happened. Unfortunately young people today don't give a crap about midterms and this happens.

The presidency though: We shall see.

Actually, that's Ryantology you're quoting. But I do agree with him except the pennies an hour part, which I said was an exaggeration for rhetorical effect.

Sorry for calling you a liar. I went back and checked and yes it was Ryantology who said those falsehoods.

I'm more concerned about the 300 or so Republicans added to state legislatures around the country. Really, with a girdlocked congress, all the action is at the state level, and it isn't pretty.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

The voters didn't seem to share your concern.

Don't worry. Except for the top 1% (and the Teabaggers who are divorced from reality anyway), they will soon enough.

You really think so?

Personally I've observed a tendency of people voting for the ones fucking them deepest and hardest. Not only in America.

It's all about the word dressing and general ignorance running rampant. Give them a good scare of the other side, play to their prejudices and you have them in a tea bag (pun intended).

With the greatest irony, I'll invoke the collapse of Communism as an example of what I expect to happen with the Teabaggers.

Communism collapsed when the people finally realized that the grand worker's paradise that was supposed to be ushered in by the revolution never materialized. No matter how much propaganda you bombard people with, no matter how much you indoctrinate them, eventually, reality catches up and people realize the ideology they've blindly followed isn't delivering on the promised goods.

*Now take a moment to savor the irony of me invoking the fall of Communism*

So to it will have to be sooner or later even with the dumbest of GOP followers. "Hey, the wealth isn't trickling down". Sure, they should have realized it when I did but some people are more reluctant than I am to admit the ideology they once adopted is bullshit.

That's, by the way, what makes religion uniquely dangerous. Unlike with dangerous political or economic ideologies, the proof isn't in the pudding. There's no reality check because the benefits are only realized after you die and can't come back.

No, they won't.

It's beyond their capacity, since there's a whole religious industry behind their voting habits. Do you honestly think, that a person rubbing two brain cells together could vote for mental midgets like Louie Gohmert, Ted Cruz, Steve King, Michelle Bachmann (and many many others) without being embarassed?

And it's not like communism falling apart. Communism never was a popular movement. They ruled against the people from the get go.

Mind you. I'm only an outside observer, but I see the same in my parts, where rightwingers get stronger and stronger by playing to the most primitive prejudices of the people. Religion isn't that much of an issue where I live, but Xenophobia and Immigration plays a very large role. As well as Islamophobia.

Aside from the gas prices going down due to keystone XL. The rest of it is due to the counterfeit money given to the top 1%. They've had 4 rounds of quantitative easing. We would all be millionaires if that vast amount of cash were deposited directly into our bank accounts.

We are almost 20 trillion in debt and there is only 2.5 trillion in circulation. So, don't blame everything and the kitchen sink on republicans when it costs 10k a month for a studio apartment and $86 for a happy meal.

Real wealth is stuff.....not 0's on a ledger. The truth is the poor and middle class in America have more stuff or wealth than they ever have had. If you compare a typical present day citizen's life style to Bill Gates versus a typical a typical 19th century citizen's life style to Cornelius Vanderbilt, you would find the life style gap has closed....not gotten wider as the left wants you think.

The left wants you to think your slice of the pie is getting smaller and smaller and smaller. But what they neglect to tell you is the whole fricken pie is getting bigger and bigger and bigger. What would you rather have? 1/4 of a 4" pie or 1/10 of a 24" pie?

Its not trickle down economics. Its growing the size of the pie economics......and it works bitches.
