There would be more evidence for a heaven existing instead of blatant likes like heaven is for real.
The statement 'I believe only what I can see' is in itself contradictory since belief is not physical. Actually, many things exist that can't be observed. Some very real scientific entities, such as magnetism, gravity, and electricity cannot be seen. Critical abstracts, such as numbers, sets, propositions, and properties, cannot be seen either...yet they exist. Justice, goodness, and other morals are real, but they are also undetectable by the senses. The concepts of truth and love are invisible realities. And by the way, just because we're limited by a body doesn't mean God is. The point is 'seeing is believing' is the very limiting, but if that's what you want to go with, that's perfectly fine.

Well, given that nobody fucking said "I believe only what I can see," despite the fact that you put quotations around those words, I suppose what you're saying is just nothing but one big deflection to avoid talking about the argument from ignorance you keep making, eh? Dodgy

But they can be measured....unlike any fucking gods.

Here is a link from a thread I started. We found hydrocarbons on a comet that we have not yet touched. No possibility of contamination.

Unless one is to assume that only our solar system contains hydrocarbons, amino acids or nucleotides, then one must expect that the universe is teeming with life.

The presence of early Earth’s building-block materials is not enough to explain the origin of life. These materials must be able to combine in a stepwise manner to form more-complex chemical entities that in turn could evolve into the first life-forms.
Nasa is desperately trying to increase their funding by distorting an article title and promoting a creaky and exhausted 19'th century materialism.

NASA didn't write that article, or its headline.

Here's the official NASA article: "DNA Building Blocks Can Be Made in Space"

Quote:NASA-funded researchers have evidence that some building blocks of DNA, the molecule that carries the genetic instructions for life, found in meteorites were likely created in space. The research gives support to the theory that a “kit” of ready-made parts created in space and delivered to Earth by meteorite and comet impacts assisted the origin of life.

International Business Times sensationalized their headline. It's not NASA's fault. They were more precise in their phrasing. Nowhere in that article does it state that fully-assembled extraterrestrial DNA was found.

You could have figured that out on your own, but it's not like anyone expects honesty or effort from the likes of you. You only saw what you mistakenly assumed was an opportunity to score desperately-needed points for the dying superstition you choose to cling to, and now you've made an idiot of yourself.
Just some poetic license since your guy posted a 'new' topic from 2011, and used this, "Quote:NASA: DNA Found on Meteorites Indicates Life May Have Originated in Space"; and it received 16 kudos from your guys who thought this article was so wonderful (dna from outer space!)...or else they were oblivious to the fact that 'building blocks' were scatter thoughout the universe from the big bang.

It means this is classic journalistic ignorant hype of a fairly important discovery.

The title is misleading. DNA was NOT, repeat NOT, found on asteroids, meteors, or contaminating our foodstuffs. OK, that last one isn't true, but they really didn't find DNA in space.

What they found was adenine and guanine, two of the four nucleobases that form DNA. This is like finding a couple of bricks in my yard and hollering "hey everyone, there's a mansion buried in my back yard!"

The reason it's important is that adenine and guanine don't naturally occur on Earth. The question 'where did those building blocks come from?' has been floating around for decades. So has the answer "they came from meteorites," but only now has that answer been unquestionably confirmed.

Due to the nature of the study of abiogenesis, I sincerely doubt that there will ever be a single creationism-busting discovery. It will be a slow, gradual process, sort of like abiogenesis itself. And pretty much no matter what science discovers, creationists will never admit that their silly literal reading of genesis is wrong.

Yes, but 4 years of Internet Time is pretty much the same as 5315 RL years. . .

Quote:NASA researchers have found the building blocks for life in meteorites, indicating that the components for life on Earth may have originated in outer space.

Researchers from NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greebelt, Md., report evidence that ready-made DNA parts could have crashed to the surface on objects like meteorites, and then assembled under Earth's early conditions to create the first DNA.

No wonder the republicunts don't want to fund NASA. Jesus can't handle the competition.

I wonder where that came from. I mean, everything's gotta have a source, right?

That said, that doesn't necessarily mean life did originate from outer space. Though it does seem to indicate that DNA exists elsewhere in the galaxy. Nothing surprising there, of course.

No. Hydrogen, helium, a small amount of lithium, and possibly a tiny amount of beryllium were the only elements created following the Big Bang. All heavier elements were created in stars and spread by their explosive deaths.

Then those elements were available to form molecules. This took some billions of years.

Well, I don't care about that. I just want one hydrogen molecule. Therefor God Big Grin
