It would be enough IF people used it. Emotion can get in the way sometimes and head off the use of critical thinking in the first place. I'm not an expert by any means but as I understand it, it is physiologically impossible to completely eliminate emotional bias.
Maybe it would help if that was part of the education. If people understood how susceptible they are to wrong thinking, they might be more open to the logic of someone else who is not as emotionally biased on a particular subject as they are.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Let me first address my education misspelling. It was late, and I was tired. Nevertheless, fuck you guys!
"Intro science + Critical thinking classes + some basic logic classes = enough." doesn't address rational-selfishness or reinforced-memories. It takes humility to admit the anecdotal evidence you experienced is subject to error.
I'm not exactly sure how to counter the rational-selfishness other than what the article suggested, show the positive side of the gamble.

Speaking from my personal experience, just science isn't enough. Critical thinking and questioning needs to go alongside it. I know plenty of people who, despite being educated and well-informed maintain irrational beliefs, because they haven't learnt to question them.
Unfortunately, just like god, the education system in my country works in mysterious ways, so... :p

That quote seems a tad misleading. The study authors actually said:

So not climate scientists, which one might misunderstand the article to imply.
Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.
