Hello from Germany

RE: Hello from Germany
Yeah, all can do is peer at reality with our limited senses and equipment and write down little observations to form an abstract model. Then we fuck around with the model and try to apply the results back to reality.

It's much easier to just claim to know stuff but have no idea what you're talking about.

I am just jealous. Surely that shows.
So how, exactly, does God know that She's NOT a brain in a vat? Huh

Welcome! And don't worry about your English. It's better than a number of native speakers I could name hear. Tongue
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god.  If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.

Fields are imaginary constructs that let you conform your experience to observation.

And what if my love for physics is platonic? Tongue

I am Bernd, 26 years old and from Germany. I never used English after school so that it is quite rusty and I apologize for language mistakes in advance. I hope it is ok to write here when I didn't master the Englisch language, yet.

I grew up in a small village and during my childhood I believed in god because almost everyone else believed in it and I had to go to church. With 14 years I started to think about the sense of life and my result is that all these tales about god are illogical and it doesn't give me a real sense. There isn't any sense of life. Since I negate the existence of a sense of life I don't ask the question of the sense of life anymore. Life is senseless that's my opinion.

Instead of the fairy tales about god I am really interested in Physics. I think physics is the only serious attemption to grasp the essence of nature.
I am very well educated in Quantum Mechanics but I only do Quantum Mechanic calculations as a hobby. At the moment I am interested in Non-Equilibrium-Quantum systems. Unfortunately most literature is in Englisch and I am not very gifted in learning a language but I am trying to improve it now.

I work as an retailer in Saturn and I like computer games.

Your English is excellent. Hello and welcome to the forums

Welcome! I am new here also. Your English is better than you think, at least when it comes to writing it. Learning a new language is never easy! Keep at it! Smile
