They are so completely immersed in their beliefs and way of life that I might as well be talking another language. They don't try to convince you by any clever discussion. They have a simple approach: read a verse from the book of Mormon (I can't remember which one it is now) that tells you the things in it are true! Dodgy Then pray to God (with a sincere heart) that He will reveal if these things are true.

Wow, I think I've heard that from other religions as well. Let me think which one it was again.... Oh yeah, ALL of them. Cool Shades

True enough, but in my experience, the JWs will have a good stab at reasoning with you. So too have many 'church leaders' I have got into discussions with. These 'Trueman Show' guys seem to lean on this 'promise' of revelation, hence they don't need too much going on upstairs (necessarily). Wink Shades

Do they Cherry-pick or believe the WHOLE book. That's what I'm wondering.

If the believe the whole thing - it may be ridiculous! - But I guess, at least they aren't cherry-picking. At least they actually do take it seriously if that's the case. And don't just choose the bits they "like".

I'm certainly not implying its a better position though! I think its either delusion or self-deception/dishonestly. The belief in God ITSELF being delusional in both cases. This is all simply in my honest (and current) opinion.

Peace,
Evf

P.S: at SAB (skeptic's annotated bible [website]) there's also a skeptics annoted book of Mormon. Could be interesting if its reliable enough.

The book of Mormon is copyright free and in English, so there is no reason the book of Mormon on the SAB website is any different from the ones the Mormons use. They usually sell/give them with the New Testament and the book of Mormon in one bundle. The church of LDS has its own online version on http://scriptures.lds.org/bm/contents

In short, yes, quite accurate. The animation is made by former Mormon members.

Former? As in, they finished the animation, quickly realized what they had been a part of and renounced their faith?

No, as in they left the mormon church, and made a documentary about the mormon church, where this animation was a part of.
