I have a love-hate relationship with maths. It gives me so much unreasonable joy when I understand it and I love proving stuff using it, but sometimes it just doesn't want to fit in my brain.

Change your username to philosopher (with the necessary cacti, of course) and then debate professor. Would be fun. 
When I first went to London in the Navy, I heard someone say "maths" for the first time. I was like, "maths? Derp its math."
But my logical brain knew immediately that I had been wrong for 21 years. It's not mathematic, it's mathematics. And so now I say maths. Thank you, rest of the world. I am working on the SI thing. There is absolutely zero reason for 5280 of anything to be one anything. NO REASON!
