When someone asks what religion am I, they generally mean what AFL footy team do I follow. hehe No probs about fitting in, if you think in the language of logic, you're 95% there.

Welcome from Portugal!
A few centuries ago, around here, jews were sort of abolished... you either converted to christian or left... or force was applied, or something. Anyway, thus appeared what we called the "new christians"... who were still jews at heart but tried to behave as christians. These guys invented a kind of sausage based on meat not from pork, that looked like it was made from pork - the alheira. My dad says I have some jewish ancestry, because of my syndactyly on the toes of both feet (like the foot in the wiki article).... although, I have never seen any other relation between jews and this condition. Enjoy your stay. (June 11, 2015 at 5:19 am)pocaracas Wrote: Welcome from Portugal! Thanks again all. Interesting about the sausage and like you, I have never heard anything about syndactyly being something Jewish. When you are a minority, your identity becomes important and things you never cared about start to impact your life. Inevitable, most westerns are culturally Christians - I bet your life has been influenced by Christianity whether you accept it or not - As much as it has been influenced by prominent philosophers, artists, etc. Given that many of the best Christmas carols were written by Jews, maybe that is really just more Jewish culture! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_music What would Christmas be without Bing Crosby singing White Christmas, written by Irving Berlin?
