(Even though, technically, that wasn't the confederate flag)

Arguably the American Confederacy were Americans, as well as the fact they are not presently an active power nor a threat to national security.

How would you feel if I ordered a cake saying God hates faggots? An ISIS cake is a big I hate America.

I would feel like your an ignorant bigot, but certainly wouldn't suggest that you be shot.

Ok, the confederacy didn't hate America.  In spite of the fact that they were more than willing to cause the most deadly war in American history in an attempt to get away from America, in spite of the fact that one of their sympathizers shot the American president, you claim they didn't hate America?  I mean, really, what does the confederate flag stand for if it isn't open rebellion against the United States?

Deal with it. And stop going out of your way to find reasons to be pissed off.

Most people don't pay all that much attention to the news and probably have no idea who Isis is or what their flag looks like. That goes double for the bakery staff at Walmart. Expecting them to know all about Isis would be like me going down to a monster truck rally and expecting everyone there to be able to give a detailed analysis about the symbolism in Shakespears' plays.

I've always hated it when people are firmly convinced that the world hates them and they go out of their way to prove it; ever heard of confirmation bias? If you're already convinced something is true, you'll find evidence for it whether that evidence actually exists or not (*COUGH*creationism*COUGH*feminism*COUGH*).

You.

I like you.

They ordered a celebratory cake in the form of a symbol of a group the US are at war with.

This is treason.

Treason?   you have zero evidence the party that ordered this cake has ever sworn allegiance to the US, you dim witted 15th century moron.

I have friends who work at the bakery in Walmart. They are underpaid and not appreciated for their jobs. Don't they have enough problems working for a company that views them with such little regard? Do we have to bully or shame them because they might not recognize the flag of some extremist Muslim group? I didn't even know ISIS had a flag.

Who does Pious Paladin want shot? The Walmart employee?

This shit has snopes written all over it. I reeks of a made up story.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Certainly, supermarket employees, not just in Wal-Mart, are both underpaid and under-appreciated, as are the producers of those products. Items don't appear on the shelves by magic, as some people appear to think. I don't think the employees were at fault here. I'm of the inclination that only way the West can maintain its standard of living is exploration of the Third World, but let's not get sidetracked with that.

An ISIS person would not order a cake like that anyway, for several reasons. Birthdays are considered idol worship by some (Zakir Naik discussed this but I'm too lazy too look for the video right now). It hasn't been deemed Halal. Also, the cake probably has too much colour and ISIS hate colour apparently - they was a story of them disposing coloured crayons/pencils if I remember rightly. And finally, they'd probably think it idolizes the flag.

I'm willing to give the guy who made the cake the benefit of the doubt. Walmart employees aren't known for being experts on political affairs.

It's the one who ordered the cake who needs to be prosecuted.
