We cannot choose the music we listen to in the retail business. It is usually the easy rock songs that some psychology study probably shows is more soothing to people than any other music. Classical music would be considered elevator music, and no one likes that.

Two Steps From Hell, or classical, or dubstep, or slipknot. Depends on what I'm doing, but usually one of those

On a saturday when I'm on my own, it's my custom mixed best of Sarah Brightman. I dream about her ...don't tell my wife! (Her voice is just as perfect live!)

Once I had an interesting occurence with music and elevator. I went to my GP to give me a prescription. On the way back after I left his office, I was wearing big headphones (those big headphones some DeeJays use on concerts) but since I wasn't in the mood to put them on my ears, I just kept them on my neck. I was listening to a specific set of music meant FOR movies: The moment I stepped in the elevator the 4th one (the video below) was playing and some retarded bitch told me to turn it off because she said she didn't wanna hear that kind of music while riding an elevator. Of course I told her she should take the stairs, if she's so scared of the elevator. She didn't but what happened in the next approximately 20 seconds made me think about the psychological effect music has on people, depending on the environment. So, the elevator was going down and it was only me and that retarded nurse in the machine. It stopped, more people came in and the most of them pressed the button for the lobby. There were 5 more storeys to before the lobby. Doors closed, my music was still playing and the elevator continued on its course. But on the 3rd storey someone had called for the elevator and ofc the machine stopped to pick them up. When it stopped, all those who had previously pressed the button for the lobby left the elevator as if the devil were behind them, leaving just me and the new passenger inside, who appeared to enjoy my music.
Lately it's been Linkin Park and Metallica along with a channel by a guy who composed and performs guitar solos to a lot of well-known songs whom I found when looking for an acoustic version of Nothing Else Matters
Here's his channel https://www.youtube.com/user/LeandroKasan and his acoustic version of Nothing Else Matters https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVksVFGBjKw&index=1

Is it something that really needs my concentration then I'll listen to something like Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, or Lindsey Stirling. If I'm just bopping about I'll stick on some bubble gum pop.
When working I never listened to music but always seemed to have a song in my head. Sometimes good, sometimes irritating, i.e. stupid commercial jingle, stupid pop music I picked up on the way to work.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
Maybe here is a good place to ask:
What is Spotify? Is it just a streaming music service? Is it a free service or pay? (Is Pandora a pay service now?) Too lazy to look this stuff up on my own, clearly.

I recently got back from a four-month hiatus in business for my candy store, and, while, usually there's one of the owner's sons manning the computer/cash register playing some Disney songs on Pandora, I usually have music of my own to listen to (particularly when there aren't any customers); and it can get very eclectic.
