And here we go again. Bible proves bible. You simply don't get it that it's a credible to us as Harry Potter proving Harry Potter's existence.

Incorrect. This is not a circular argument. I'm simply pointing to a set of books that contain the teaching of Jesus of Nazareth that were written down within a few years of his death. Professional scholars recognize that these books have significant historical value. And these books indicate that Jesus claimed to be divine.

What ancient evidence do you offer to support the assertion that Jesus did NOT claim to be God?

I think she already knows you think Jesus was divine.  You already know that I don't consider the words written in the bible to be all that historically accurate particularly not John, Exodus, Isaiah, or Revelations.

Jesus' claims to be divine are multiply attested by a variety of sources - sources accepted as historically significant by trained professional scholars. And note that I make the distinction between his claims and the reality. That he IS God must be proved. We're only talking about what He claimed.

What evidence do you have to support your view that he did not make the claim?

You know, this kind of question really does betray your own ignorance.

What is a question like this supposed to imply? The answer to such a question should be pretty obvious to any person who has done the least possible amount of research besides none at all IMO. But when a question like this is asked it only serves to muddy the waters between actual historical figures that have multitudes of evidence for their existence, and religious figures who have barely any at all besides the testimony of their respective religions.

So, do you think Jesus was a real person? I'm not asking if you think Jesus was divine, or if He performed miracles, or if He was crucified, died, and came back.

I'm simply asking if you think there was a man 2000ish years ago named Jesus who brought forth these new "ideas" that we now call Christianity.

His people wouldn't be able to resurrect him if he weren't a real person.

We don't really know what he claimed.  Full stop.  Because we don't.  Our sources are way too long after him to know that.  But since the earlier the gospel the less Jesus claims godhood (does he claim it all in Mark?) I would guess that he made no such claim.

Well my casual opinion is that there probably was someone to whom those stories are attributed. Naturally I doubt all the stories of miracles as well as any attribution of divinity. More importantly, if what the stories mean is true, then I doubt if any denomination of Christianity understands his message. On the other hand I'm very sure he would have approved of the way you conduct yourself, except in the bedroom.

You have that wrong.  There are many Harry Potter books, not just one.  The second one confirms the first, as it indicates Harry Potter at a particular point in his life.  Plus, doesn't each book reference things that happened earlier, so that each is a confirmation of the previous books.  How can you doubt the reality of Harry Potter?  The evidence is right there in the text, just like the Bible and Church records prove the reality of the earlier claims.  Harry Potter is real.  Or at least as real as Jesus as described in the Bible.
