Think of it as a blessing.

In all actuality, you can't really see that he has a mullet. At least, not from that shot. As a future salon professional, I can see from the picture, that towards the nape, his hair falls at least 1/2 an inch above his jacket collar and it would appear that the cut of his hair is a standard 90 degree haircut. This means that his hair is the same length from all sides, if it were to be pulled out at a 90 degree angle from the head, at the point where it grows out of his scalp, thus giving him a somewhat layered look.
