Because having sex randomly with anyone you feel like is something that can cause problems in the future when they do get married (especially for females). If everyone did this, then I think relationships would be in a lot more chaos and confusion. The children that you gave birth to will not know who their father or mother was and this can possibly affect them in the future. So, I think it's better to first get married and only then have sex. It avoids a lot of confusion because this way marriage becomes a contract for having sex.
