It is remarkably ironic, since most of them teach them to believe their prefered religion. Fortunately some of us have maneuvre space to start thinking of our own, once grown.
The funny thing is consent is required for a hetero marriage as well, im not sure why its a problem now that gay people are marrying. I have never heard an argument against gay marriage that couldn't be applied to all marriage. If he is going to use the slippery slope argument than he should be arguing to abolish all forms of marriage because "traditional marriage" is what paved the way for gay marriage.
