Smoking is rare in gay porn, off the top of my head I can only think of a couple of men in uniform videos I have that feature smoking, and they all used cigars. I'd estimate cigarette smoking is a problem as you'd have continuity problems with butt length (odd turn of phrase there) in editing the footage. Cigars would burn slow enough it wouldn't be very evident as it burned down. Also, cigarettes tie up a hand a mouth, vital accessories in any porn I'd be interested in.
