I liked the detail about the religion where the "priests" are the only trained personnel who can operate the technology provided by the foundation.
And, when planets want the tech, but not the religion, economy becomes the driving force. It's like a mirror of the last 2k Earth years.
Overall entertaining, but with too much dependence on accurate control of a whole population by those with seemingly little control over them...
Have you read the second part of foundation and empire? With the rise of the mule.
ah... not yet. The whole series is safely stored on my phone and laptop... awaiting...
No spoilers, please!
I'm now reading Bart Ehrman's "Lost Christianities", as advised by Minimalist, on some thread some time ago.
It's quite curious how many texts from the 2nd ~4th centuries exist concerning a fellow called Jesus, who had a few disciples and said a bunch of stuff...
It's frustrating how many of those texts never made it to our days.
It's interesting to note how much of what was written as coming from Jesus himself was... made up. It does lead one to wonder how much of the canonical texts was made up.
I just read this morning a part about the allegedly first written canonical gospels mention nothing about the death and resurrection of this very important figure... and this figure's most important accomplishment... It took Paul's contemporaries to write about that... odd that.
