Pretty much every SK film adaptation has fallen short, particularly the made for TV ones. Of those, "It" is one of the better ones.
I will say that Syfy Channel's 2009 version of Children of the Corn and ABC's 1997 version of The Shining (mini-series) are the best King adaptations I've seen.... very close to the original stories.
Dolores Claiborne was okay, and I feel that The Mist was pretty good, but I haven't actually read those two.
