Maybe it shouldn't be a thing, but I can say that where I live, finding a hospital that isn't religiously affiliated and covered by my insurance ain't that easy. The largest hospital network in the area is Catholic. Adventist Health is run by... guess who?

A local public university runs a secular hospital, and Kaiser Permanente I think is secular (but my insurance is no good there). Legacy Health was formed by the merger of two faith-based healthcare providers, I have no idea what their affiliation is now (if any).
