What, they want more orphans, right?? RIGHT????
They obviously expect of her to be abstinent. You think St. Paul was joking when he said "From now on those who have wives should live as if they do not." or “It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman.” - sure sane people see this as ranting of a lunatic, but to Christians it's a credo. They see it as God's way of telling that woman to stop having sex and devote herself to next life and possibly even holy Crapture.
Especially when it's run with all those nuns who look at normal women with disgust for having sex and think if they can do all their life without "it" surely this one can stop being addicted to that "sinful male organ".
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
