Where do you stand on make up?

I love and hate makeup.

I love the glamour of heavy makeup,
but only for a photo shoot, or going to a club or fetish night,
and it has to be classic and very professionally-executed, like this:



for everyday, however,
I hate the bother,
and I hate how it feels on my face,
and I don't like the fact that it never stays looking fresh for long;
it gets cakey and gross,
and it rubs off on clothing,
and the more often you wear it,
the worse your skin becomes.

I've heard supermodels say that they refuse to wear makeup on their own time
...just to give their skin a rest, between shows and shoots.

And no, lipstick is not pleasant to kiss.

Same applies to nail colour and hair dye.

It looks great once in awhile, for specific occasions, and only for a brief period of time.

And, as a woman, I can tell you that lots of men who SAY they "prefer a natural look"
are not actually telling the truth, or they are kidding themselves.

I've heard lots of guys complain about how much time it takes their girlfriend to make up,
and grumble about the taste of lipstick, or how her makeup smears off on his cheek or shirt collar,

...then I've seen those same guys turn their heads to look after some Kim Kardashian type,
at the mall, who trowels-on her makeup using a front-end loader.

I've also seen straight guys fooled by transsexuals wearing lots of makeup.

I think even if they dislike the makeup, itself,
many men have a hard time completely ignoring the signal that a woman wearing a lot of makeup often sends out:

" I care a great deal about living up to your sexual fantasies "


note:  having acknowledged that that is often the case,
let me also say, as a grown woman,
that if all the men in the world were to disappear without a trace, tomorrow,
lots of women would still wear makeup
because they genuinely enjoy it.


To support this,
I also know of a straight male crossdresser who loves women,
and when he dresses, he does it very well.

I was complaining about shaving my legs one day, to some girlfriends,
and he protested that he found the process "sensual".

So for some women, doing girly things like putting on makeup may be rewarding, in itself.

Whereas I personally do not enjoy the tedium of application.

I would wear makeup more often if it was space-age
and I could just have finished, flawless, weightless makeup
applied to my face in a single flash of light
and know it was perfectly applied and would stay perfect, all day.

I hate the idea of how much time I would COLLECTIVELY end up spending on my makeup,
if I did it every day of a year.

Even if it only takes 30 minutes, that's 180 hours of my year spent in front of the mirror.

I'd rather spend it on AF.
