Because christianity is one long studious attempt at inverting the definitions of obvious words.
Threats of eternal torture are "loving," stripping away the rights of others is "just," burning people alive is "moral," and so on. Christianity constantly asks that its adherents throw out the dictionary and substitute their own, mirrored version of it.
Orwell would be appalled.
