I closed my facebook account down and keep in touch with people via good old fashioned email.
I found reading the "news feed" increasingly tedious.
I was discouraged by the impermanent and disconnected nature of post comments section.
To top it off, facebook, despite common perception is actually an agent of censorship.
Since the only reason keeping me there were the social connections (minus updates from a couple of pages relating to upcoming events), I obtained those friends email addresses for my email account, subscribed to a couple of sites relating to the fb pages I wanted updates to, and closed the account.
My online productivity is back to where it was before I became addicted to facebook activities.
