It is a little bittersweet I guess. The thing is that it took an organized minority to make the protest. One women appealing to the majority spontaneously shut it down. That's the beauty of free speech.
Unfortunately, that's kind of how it works with atheist billboards. A small group organizers to puts it up. A larger group takes it down with vandalism. But unlike the honkers and other supporters, lone women's allies didn't need to break the law. Sheer moral force shut them down.
Westboro Baptist protests are being routed more and more often by others (often including Christian others). Makes me smile.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.
