If they truly cared they'd support prenatal care and paid maternity leave. But whenever you point this out their only response is, "she should have planned better and thought of all of that before spreading her legs". So, in reality, it doesn't even have anything to do with caring about a fetus and everything to do with making sure women are sufficiently punished for having sex, particularly if she's unwed and low-income.
