Even if you provide one, I could still get stabbed tomorrow, rendering my vegetarian diet pointless if the aim is to lengthen my life-span.
I don't see the point personally. Ofcourse, don't go out of your way to be a fat mess that's putting your health at more risk than what would otherwise be the norm, but at the same time living your life like you're trying to add 20 years is to the detriment of those years you are living IMO.

Maybe if everyone suddenly turned Vegan, but there's not going to be a shortage of cows pumping farts into the air any time soon so the environmental reasoning behind eating a pure vegetable diet isn't exactly compelling either, at least not for me.
