Or he could have found a better fucking group of people than the cunts he found.
I think he major argument I'd have with some of the atheist posts on this thread is that you're forgetting that it's a basic rational conclusion that the god of the bible doesn't exist.
The god of the bible didn't tell the Jews to rape, murder and enslave people. He didn't exist.
The main question I think is the most important in relation to the original post in this thread is:
Did a collection of myths encourage people to enslave other people more than they would have done if the myth was not popular around this time.
In my opinion it wouldn't have made much of a difference.
The vast vast majority of races, religions and cultures have been involved in some sort of slave trade.
It seems to be a bit of a distorted outlook to look back a place in history were racism and slavery were common worldwide and say it was Christianity that was responsible for the oppression.
I think it's a totally valid and interesting question though to ask why do come cultures take to Christianity so readily, not just black people or Mexican people.
And it's not just people who have had it beaten into them sometimes it seems to be the reverse of that, for example the Vikings who plundered churches eventually themselves became converted.
I'd argue that people of colour don't cling to a religion and most other people don't either. They develop a bias for the brand of being Christian/Muslim/Buddhist, then they cherry pick from these brands the ideas they like and use them.
How many people of colour in America actually follow every one of the bibles little crazy rules?
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.
