Primarily because they can honestly look at a movie like this and say, "look at the good work we're doing. We're reaching these kids and saving their souls. Plus, they'll go out and save more souls for Jesus and isn't that a good thing. We're helping to restore decency to America yatta yatta..."
They can't seem to realize that kids babbling nonsensically or being tormented by terrifying images of Hell is a really bad thing.
