I've been waiting for quite some time to be visited by the Mormons at my door, and I finally had the chance to speak with them today. I kept it respectful as I could, while still being open with them. It was fun to debate with them as I don't get the chance to debate theists in person since the only theists I really know are my family and they don't know where I stand quite yet. They basically said touché and walked away when my response to them telling me to pray was that I tried that and it got me nowhere, and that the way for me to work through my problems is to actually work through them rather than "putting it in gods hands"
I do have to give them some props though--we have a pretty nasty hornet infestation in the bushes by our front door and they stood there debating with me with a few giant stinging creatures swarming around them.

Did you ask why there is no evidence to support any of the bullshit contained in their "Book of Moron"?

I didn't feel like fully attacking them, and to be honest I'm not all that familiar with Mormonism. I figured I'd just "kill them with kindness". Now I know I need to study their side a bit more so that next time I can have more to say against their exact religion.

I haven't had any Mormons this year. I've gotten to the point that when I answer the door and see them, I just say, "No, thank you," as politely as possible, and they don't even give me a spiel.

That's what I did, I just said I don't want to waste your time I'm an atheist, but they insisted so I joined in on the fun.

I actually had Mormons come here a couple of days back. I was pretty pissed because I had to put pants on. The moment I saw them, before they even spoke, I said "ah, we're not interested!"

True story. Almost 40 years ago when I was maybe 20 and working graveyard stocking shelves, I got Jehovah's witnesses at the door. Sleeping in the nude I answered the door the same way. It took me a minute to understand why they were pushing the kids behind them and why they weren't trying harder to convert me instead of backing away. Fine, just leave my unsaved, hairy ass behind.
