It's worse. The mantra is "trust and obey", like the hymn: "Trust and obey / for there's no other way / to be happy in Jesus / but to trust and obey."
Their entire religious philosophy is centered around the notion of turning off your own faculties and trusting in the Napkin and the church authorities who interpret it on their behalf, blocking out "the world's knowledge" in order to continue in their blind faith and unquestioning obedience.
It is the same mantra I hear time and time again, involving so many things.
For instance, I work at a health foods store, organic and gluten free and all that crap.
The great thing about working where I do is that I do not have to believe what the store promotes, not in its entirety. The one very good thing about the store is that it is promoting healthier eating.
If there's one line that is always subject, it is the one that involves "just trust and believe". Too many cults rely on it, and too many people fall for it.
There is this guy at work. He is actually quite scientifically smart, yet he relies too much upon such conspiracy. It confuses me, but then he is young. Perhaps he could be attempting to find his way in life.
