You said you can't have your computer running all night because of the electricity usage so I figured you could use a program that puts your laptop into "hibernate mode" after a set amount of time so you can see the results of memtest whenever you turn it on again.

Under Event select Simple Counter and then set the timer to 45 minutes. Under Task select Hibernate and then just run memtest first and press the green arrow at the bottom to start the timer.
