Because extreme right wingers don't want democracy. They want to run things, not serve the people. so they admire people like Putin and Netenyahu. They want to be oligarchal dictators, not public servants. They know the kind of things most people in the country want, because most people will word their goals as if it's going to help more people than just them and their donors. We're still at a point where they need the people to vote for them, but they're breaking that down as best they can.
