Jesus Christ said he was God. Many times. Followers of Christ are not those, like in other faiths, that need to understand him as only a man. Those are not primarily followers of Christ. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
So yes that is a contradiction in terms, atheists who follow Jesus. This label, I presume, would describe someone who agrees with the moral guidelines without accepting the divinity. It's an oxymoron. Like 'Microsoft Works' (my favourite)
Obviously I disagree with your statement that it is an oxymoron to be an atheist and follow Jesus' morality. Many people were Christian and followed Hitler's morality at some point in time, but it didn't make them any less Christian; they just believed they were doing God's work.
