Be thankful

Thanksgiving is such a funny holiday.  Much like Christmas, we all celebrate it without any real consideration of its meaning.

Am I thankful?  

For all I have and for all I've accomplished ... I suppose I am.  Although being "thankful" does inherently imply that there is someone or some power that you are thankful to.  

My family is full of christards and they made sure to remind everyone that god allowed them this beautiful day, the food on the table, the bird in the oven, the air they are breathing, even the ability to drive across the state and spend time together.  Meanwhile, my aunts sat around the table after dinner discussing all the horrible ailments each has suffered over the last year and the two strokes that their husbands had and how incompetent their doctors are.  

It's all bull shit.  
No one is giving thanks for anything.  We're all really just getting together with people we barely tolerate and over-eating while millions the world over are starving to death.
Let us all give thanks to the wizard in the sky who loves us white people and beats down those pagans in third world countries.  Amen.
