I also want to point out that putting regulations on guns isn't the same as making a list of commandments. Saying that there should be background checks, that we should ban automatic or semi automatic weapons, would be a good step. Taking the guns out of the hands of people with criminal histories, or giving background checks for criminal history or mental illness should be stringent. That would do way more than give people some rules to live by, it would disable people from having guns who can do harm to others.
