Because then you have to extend that option to everyone, where will put all of these dead people hooked up to machines and how will we pay for it? Also right now there is no suggestion that once the brain dies that we can bring it back again.
It's not as unlikely as you're making it seem. We're not talking about current technology, we're talking about bringing her back in the future. And there are a lot of indications that we'll be able to do a lot of cool stuff in said future, maybe including this.
Don't hold me to that, I'm just saying though.
