I'm suspecting most here don't mind you because you're not rude or a troll.
Please answer one question for me.
What drives you here. To an atheist forum? What do you enjoy most about conversing with atheists?
You're always fighting an uphill battle, like other theists. But you persist against the odds.
I personally like the tenacity and the stubborn fight in you. And the fact that you are never outright rude.
I've always wondered why theists persist here.
Kingy and CL have stayed for the social aspects of it predominantly.
I want to know what drives you deep down?
Cheers.
I don't have too much of a social life. I go to gaming forums, religious forums, and here too.
But to be honest, going on forums has been a journey. I've learned so much and developed views that I feel more confident in having discussed arguments with other people and heard various sides of the issues.
So I like to learn and socialize from people of differing views.
That said, I really wanted to understand Atheists as well. I wanted to see if they reasoned properly with regards to this issue.
I also wanted to see the best Anti-God arguments out there. I came up with some of my own as a result as well.
That said, I feel warranted and justified in believing in God, and think that knowing God exists sometimes comes when sharing perception. It's like the more we think about we are seeing, the closer we get in that vision.
I always felt the hope that perhaps someone will come to realize the vision of God and think about what they are seeing.
As of now. It's to continue to reflect, bring different discussion, discourses, and see what the Atheist community can say with regards to these issues.
Now I have a motive aside from this due to Islam, to be a caller towards God and his way. I don't want to preach or anything, but I want to present the case for Islam that I reasoned myself to, to others.
If nothing more but to test the strength of my reasoning.
This is about evidence, and we expect evidence on any claim, not just issues of religion, and not just your religion. Telling you your logic is bad, and that book was not written with modern knowledge is not an attack on your human rights, it is simply the act of telling you you need to put a mirror to your own logic and question yourself.
Now as far as what drives us here? It is simply a place for atheists to hang out and for theists to make the attempt to present what they think is evidence.
There is no conspiracy here. You've been a member for years. You need to consider that maybe you keep coming here, not to convince us, but to convince yourself. Fishing for excuses to cling to old claims based on "faith" is not a real test of credibility of a claim. Claims that are verifiable can be tested independently of a holy book or a religion, not just yours.
