I live in a country with over 200 nationalities. We don't actually have a national identity, which suits me just fine. We do have quite a few people who try to insist Australia is still Anglo-Celt. This has not been true since the mid 1950s.
Within another 100 years or so, we will probably become a predominately Asian country. This bothers me not a jot or a tittle.
I must admit to getting pissed off when some idiot politician,from our stultifying Prime Minister,(Lady Macbeth) down, starts rabbiting on about "the Australian Spirit" when they mean "human decency".
