You could needle in one one instance of folly, sure.... (and yeah)...but you don't have to.
Will it be tailored for a british audience? Yeah...and it's already being tailored for that audience..with knowledge of their failures here behind them. Here's a headline from a few years back.
Here's a little elaboration.....same article
So...just like our boy here..who believes in evolution without realizing it but -also- thinks ID is the explanation (and dare I say probably thinks creationism should be taught in schools)...so too did the UK in aggregate..according to their poll. This shit works -not- because it plays on a particularly american folly, but because it plays upon human folly...which is shared by both USians...and Brits...and in this instance, it is a shared folly supported by a shared religious narrative. Turn to chapter 1, verse 1, of either an american or british bible and you will see the same opening lines. This is the well from which ID flows..and both societies are drinking from it.

Quote:Just under half of Britons accept the theory of evolution as the best description for the development of life, according to an opinion poll.
Furthermore, more than 40% of those questioned believe that creationism or intelligent design (ID) should be taught in school science lessons.

Quote:When given a choice of three descriptions for the development of life on Earth, people were asked which one or ones they would like to see taught in science lessons in British schools:http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/4648598.stm
44% said creationism should be included
41% intelligent design
69% wanted evolution as part of the science curriculum.
