your asking about a life that is outside of this life
the next life isnt like this life, it runs differently, it works differently
you cant reason about the next life using the standards of this life for both heaven and hell
in Hell people will be punished in a multidimensional/concurrent format
so they will be in a pot boiling and they will also be on the ground being crushed by rocks and experiencing many other fears/tortures simulatenously in multitude of bodies all linked to one perception
everything will be compounded
but that might not apply to all inhabitants of Hell, because the formula is you get punished for your sins and evil and each sin and evil results in a certain kind of punishment
a thief wont be punished for being a murderer and a murderer wont be punished for being a thief, but one who has committed both will be punished for both etc
God can connect your soul to thousands of bodies and have you experience each of those bodies simultaneously without any confusion and conflicts of perception
this life is the lowest and most basic form of life, so we are used to its limitations , we are very limited what we can do here, if we wished to fly we cant, we are constricted to physical laws such as gravity etc
in the other life these constrictions dont exist
you can be eating 100 different foods at the same time, you can be at 100 different places at the same time experiencing each and every one of those bodies
you can be deep in thought but at the same time doing something that is thoughtless and purely based on instinct
so punishment will be as the Quran described "Neither the Heavens nor earth can bear"
same with Heaven , limitations dont exist unless you want them to exist , you can be a bird flying you can be a fish swimming and whatever else etc
in Hell is also described that pain is never ending and constant, when one layer of skin burns off God creates another one and continues the intensity of the pain
one thing that the people of hell will be begging for is to die permanently and go into inexistence but God promises them that they will continue to exist for eternity
which is a VERY huge penalty to pay for such a short time of actions done in this life of 70-80 years
some people will get out of hell after millions of years when they have paid for all their crimes
other people will never get out of hell
so we are talking about something that is not bound by this life with al of its limitations, so the same rules dont apply
somebody asked the Prophet(PBUH) , what about if people wanted to have children in the afterlife, will it be done like here , and he said no if somebody wants a child God will create a child the way he created Adam(PBUH) from dust , but consuming and reproduction in the classical sense we are used to here will not happen
although people will have sexual relations without for pleasure , but birth and pregnancy will not happen because they are both a burden for the mother and in Heaven there is n more pain and suffering
