Although not the worst I could tell you - another friend of mine - way long ago, maybe 7 years ago or so, wanted to drive out and see me. From god knows where (well about 3-3.5 hrs drive out of Canberra), and she was drunk. OMG had she not listened to me there's every possibility she would have died on the highway. Or, more likely, she may have had an accident but been fine. Either way it wasn't a risk worth taking.
My story didn't exactly end with everyone living happily ever after, ultimately. But as a chapter in the collected volume, it had a satisfyingly happy ending. See, I can do it, given the chance.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
