For me, the most important issue is the nominations to SCOTUS. Consider Scalia and Kennedy are 78 yrs old, and Ginsburg at 81, there will most likely 3 nominations for the next president to be elected to choose for SCOTUS. And to have any chances of reversing Citizens United Vs FEC, the most vile decision from SCOTUS, you would need a SCOTUS dominated by a majority of Democrat judges. So, the most important goal for the next election, in my estimation, is to elect a Democratic president. What about Sanders? You need to consider that presidents are not elected by the popular votes, by by electoral votes (EV). There are about 5 to 8 states that are considered as swing states. Sanders has a very small chance of winning those states. Why? He's too much to the left. In those swing states, you need a candidate closer to the center to get those independent votes and win the necessary EV. Like her or not, Hillary has a much better chance of winning those EV. I know a lot of people would have to pinch their nose and vote for her. But better that than risking a Republican win the presidency. Naming those judges to SCOTUS means you'll get people in their 50's who can sit there on SCOTUS for the next 30 years. Do you really want another SCOTUS under the wraps of the Republican party? Think twice before you consider your choices.
