Yeah, if you really think about it, it does seem dumb that God would assist someone in scoring the game-ending field goal while neglecting the lives of others entirely. But I don't expect people to think that holistically at all times.
This reminds me of that terrible argument against complaining: "Well, other people have it worse." Yeah. Great. What's your point? I should be grateful because other people have it even worse than me? Where does that end? Should a starving child be grateful because he could be dying of Ebola instead? I know it's not exactly the same as the topic at hand, but I just wanted to bring it up.
