I don't know what you've been told, but being an atheist isn't the only thing that won't bring back the dead..........and I don't know how people's status of belief in gods is supposed to make peoples deaths evaporate into the void? Allow me to suggest that atheists are perfectly capable of reverence for the dead, lol.
Personally, I didn't get into atheism to bring back the dead. It was all about sinning and my hard heart. The rest of that was full on imam goodness, gave you kudos.
