So....yeah.
This is why I don't gamble on things out of my control.
Now while you can, nor should you outlaw all gambling, I think this shit in America is getting way out of hand. And I agree, this why I don't gamble. If you can afford it, and don't get addicted fine, but I think too many people get caught up in the thrill of it who cant afford it.
Ultimately with everything in life, you can educate yourself on what you are doing, and still fail. In a very literal sense, in a very evolutionary sense, failure is the majority, not the minority. For every human who makes it to birth, there are far more sperm and eggs that do nothing. For every acorn that makes it to become an adult tree there are thousands more that simply rot.
And for every gambler that hits it big, the majority lose, and that is what makes the gambling industry work. It is also why I hate it when celebrities say "I did it, you can do it too"....... Well sure, you can try, that part is possible, but the higher up you attempt to go the fewer spots there are and the more people there are competing for those top spots.
There are only 53 spots on 32 NFL team, with millions of college players every year trying to take those limited spots. There are local and state politicians looking to move up in both parties, but still only one person ends up taking the Presidency every 4 years.
A bit of an editorial on my part, yes. If it isn't hurting you, sure do it, but know the risks, and know the odds, and don't think bad of yourself if you don't win all the time. I've seen too many people hurt, not just with gambling, but people who hurt themselves over failed marriages, failed jobs, and failed attempts at making it big. I think the best anyone can do is be happy with themselves first. I think that can allow you to go after tings if you want them, but also manage it better when reality hits you in the face.
