But see, you keep taking about manure and yet earlier you said the bones of the animals and what have you could replace oil in that way as well. So just to make sure, it's not only about manure, it's about their bodies as well?

The bones can be (and have been) replaced by the mines.   We didn't have enough bone, lol.   Can you imagine a mill sitting around frustrated for a lack of knuckles and verts?  Once upon a time, that shit was hot and in short supply.  Now it's waste, like their other byproducts, a pollutant, all because we use oil.  Talk about creating the problem by removing the solution.

And I fully agree that we shouldn't use oil in that way. If it really is a binary choice between oil and animal fertiliser, then I have to agree with it, naturally. I guess we'll just have to find out better ways to fertilise soil in the future.

I;m not sure that better means anything in the general, in this area.  The oil fertilizer is "better" than the animal fertilizer.  That's why we use it.  The animal fertilizer is just a set of chemical reactions that fuel life by decomposition.  OTOH, better than that?  Livestock is fertility, livestock is mechanical work, livestock is heat energy.  Livestock is protein.

Are you saying we use oil but there's alternatives to that and we should use them instead because oil is bad for us in the long run? And that the only alternative to that is fertiliser we get from manure and other animal material?

It's really hard to agree with you on anything or understand you for that matter when you obscure it that much.
