Every once in a while, it actually hits me that there are people that really believe the literal truth of the mythological stories from the Bible (and other "holy" texts).
The fact that there are reasonably intelligent people on here going through Olympian levels of mental gymnastics, in order to continue to believe what obviously never happened, has me gobsmacked.
Seriously people, there was never a global flood. Time to grow up and enter the 21st century.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
