In this case, she wants you to flip out. And the chance to get back at her is tempting, but it sounds like it really takes less effort to get at her: just continue to do a good job. It's win-win.

Brilliant, Exian. Yes, this is the sort of woman who has to KNOW her minions know their place, and she's on a pedestal as the brilliant teacher. So I will be properly subservient, and I will ask for her advice when it seems appropriate. I'll still make the coffee tomorrow morning before she arrives. I don't tend to "flip out".
