Yes, there are too many nationalistic disagreements to make it realistic NOW. What do you you think will happen when nuclear technology has spread all over the globe as it must? A single world government will not be an option but a necessity. We will have to iron out the difficulties because it will be that or Armageddon. We will come together because we have no other choice.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
