I always make a distinction between a free market and capitalism. The same way as I make a distinction between social democracy and socialism - or communism in it's worst case. Note the ism in all these words. In most cases it points to a system running unchecked. And that's never a good thing, since any given system isn't in the business of correcting itself.
Not only no but HELL NO!
A corrupt system will never correct it's self, it will only corrupt further till it fully brakes down. Free markets can correct themselves with proper oversight, oversight is easily corrupted by major players who want to run the table. Capitalism has always been corrupted; look at it today do you think it's a fair market?
Private prisons, are these really necessary? It's digesting that you can buy stock in company's that supports mass incarceration. This a major problem that the justice system even allows this. A high percentage is non-violent drug crimes, and a even higher percentage is for pot, for crying out fucking loud POT is not a major problem! A person get's high eats some cookies and watches a movie. You should not be in prison for such a small petty issue, what about the people that get drunk and beats there spouse? They belong prison before a person who was caught getting high and had a oz of weed in there house.

This is were capitalism leads, the favoritism of special interests. A place were beer company's does not want pot legal cause they can't compete. What would be your preference of your choice drug, beer or pot? My vote goes to pot, far more enjoyable then beer.
